My work is an interpretation of what fascinates me in my closer surrounding, the one I know best and find most valuable.
For me painting is the way to assimilate and enjoy the reality I live in every moment. From the most infinite to the most insignificant, everything is part of the magic present in everyday moment and cycle of life.
Mi obra es una interpretación de lo que me fascina en mi entorno más inmediato, el que mejor conozco y el que me parece más valioso.
Para mí pintar es la mejor manera que sé de asimilar y gozar con la realidad que vivo en cada momento. Desde lo más infinito a lo más insignificante, todo forma parte de la magia que contiene el momento cotidiano y el ciclo de la vida.
Mi visión es figurativa y en ocasiones tiene algunos puntos en común con la fotografía, que siempre me ha fascinado. Pero en todo caso busco expresarme en un lenguaje pictórico, donde la luz juega un papel muy principal, moldeando la escena y creando un sinfín de texturas. Después de haber experimentado con múltiples de ellas, me reencuentro y gozo de la belleza sin igual del lienzo y del papel, que despiertan en mí todos los sentidos.

When I am working on paper I express myself in a more intimate and direct way.
Simplifying the process, whether by removing colour or texture, ultimately results in a more direct and truthful language. Less is more and therefore each pencil stroke or watercolour wash has a meaning in itself.
Cuando trabajo sobre papel me expreso de forma más íntima y directa.
La simplificación en el proceso, bien sea por la supresión del color o de la textura del pigmento, al final se traduce en un lenguaje más desnudo y veraz. Menos es más y por eso, cada trazo del lápiz o aguada con la acuarela, tiene sentido por sí misma.

I have always felt the need to analyse the movements and rhythms of nature through painting. The painting process is that of life itself, with its different cycles and continuous change.
The fruit that falls from the tree sums up this idea very well and that is why it aroused my interest from a very early age. I painted it on many occasions.
The olive tree, each one portrayed differently,
reflects very well all this frozen movement, contrasted in my works with the
fleeting movement of wrestlers and dancers.
Siempre estuvo presente en mí la necesidad de analizar, a través de la pintura, los movimientos y ritmos de la Naturaleza. El proceso pictórico es el de la vida misma, con sus distintos ciclos y en continuo cambio.
La fruta que cae del árbol resume muy bien esta idea y es por ello que despertó mi interés desde muy temprano. La pinté en múltiples ocasiones.
El olivo, cada uno diferentemente retratado, refleja muy bien todo este movimiento congelado en el tiempo, contrastado en mis obras con el movimiento fugaz de luchadores y bailarines.
